Who We Are
Afghanistan Research is a collective of scholars, professionals, educators, and volunteers who are deeply committed to understanding and documenting Afghanistan’s past, present, and future. Our network spans disciplines and continents, bringing together individuals who share a common goal: preserving knowledge, promoting understanding, and contributing to a more informed global perspective on Afghanistan.
What We Do
We produce pro bono, volunteer-led research focused on Afghanistan’s history, politics, culture, education, gender, social structures, and the everyday life of Afghans—both inside the country and across its diasporas. Our research is guided by a deep respect for Afghan voices and lived experiences, with an emphasis on ethical inquiry and inclusive perspectives.
All of our materials are offered completely free of charge. You are welcome to download, use, cite, and share our work for academic, educational, professional, or nonprofit purposes — no permission needed. We believe that open access to knowledge is essential for empowerment and advocacy.
